Colours of 'The Wend' . . . .

“Colour greets us in the morning,
Tucks us in at night,
And in between
Affects absolutely everything!”

About 8 years ago,
after moving into my newly re-modeled home/studio/sanctuary
just outside Etna, USA,
I had a dream . . . .

In the dream a beautiful woman came to me
with a big book
and said, “Che’usa, you can have anything in this book!”

Leafing through the pages,
I saw what I wanted
and exclaimed like a little child,

“I want COLOUR!”

“And you shall have it”, the woman told me
and immediately went on to the next person
saying to them also, “And you shall have anything in this book!”

The next person picked two things out of the book
and was granted both of them!

With that I cried,
“But you didn’t tell me I could have two . . .
or
I would have picked colour
AND
something else!”

The woman just smiled and continued on . . . .

I awoke very upset after the dream . . .
however,
after a few months I began to feel
the need of colour around me . . .
more than ever before.

I had painted walls before,
but never like what began to happen!

And I decided that it was good
I only got to pick one thing out of the book . . .
as colour became my passion . . .
whether in decorating
or
painting walls,
making my Kollage note cards
or
in clothing!

As the Swiss artist Paul Klee (1879-1940) said:

"Colour has taken hold of me,
no longer do I have to chase after it.
I know that it has hold of me forever.
Colour and I are One".

“The Spirit that guides your hands
also whispers in your ear . . .
the colours of your Heart!
Touch . . . Listen . . . Follow”

It all begins with a stroke of colour . . .

Che’usa painting a floor . . .

New wall colour, floor colour . . . a new look!

Buckminster Fuller, an inventor with vision said:

"A room should not be fixed ~
should not create a 'static mood',
but should lend itself to change
so that its occupants
may play upon it as they would upon a piano."

And . . Just for fun.........embellishing a wall with copper edging!

The ambient environs I create,
whether it be in my own home,
my artwork,
or
for small-business
and residential clients
can best be described as

The Ancient Art of . . . 'Synesthesia’ . . .
when a colour/symbol/design/sound evokes
an ancient memory,
distant dream,
or other type of sensory experience.

The Beauty that pulses through your Soul

is now free to call forth the

excellence of your surroundings . . . . .

Terra Sigilattas (from the ancient glaze recipe of mixing clay, water and other secret ingredients together,
then letting them 'settle' for a few weeks until the 'cream' rises to the top!),
the name I have given my home-studio,
is the result of
inspired ideas,
hard-work
and rooms of creative pleasure
and sophisticated still-lifes.

While the overwhelming feeling of the place is 'being home' ~
the colours and decor create the feeling of
magic
delight
interest and
surprise . . .
all the while, sending the message . . .

'wondrous things happen here'!

I enjoy working hand-in-hand with people
who would describe themselves as
‘not having a creative bone in their body’.

Together we have fun creating
the perfect ‘home’
for their Inner Essence to express
by using colour to awaken their imagination
and creativity,
which in turn, translates
their 'personal interior'
into the interior of their
home
or
office!
What fun!
